Overview

We are looking for an experienced Legal and Compliance Officer with a specific focus on legal and regulatory requirements and documentation applicable to the firm’s investment funds and operating company in Luxembourg. You will join a growing office in Luxembourg to work with the Luxembourg Head of Legal and Compliance.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of legal and compliance topics, including fund structuring, fund documentation, AML and KYC matters, compliance with CSSF obligations, international regulatory issues and corporate legal matters.

Your Role

  • Management of fund legal documents such as PPM/Issuing Documents, LPA, Side Letters, service provider agreements and other related documents
  • Drafting, setting up, reviewing and updating private fund documents and provide interpretation of fund document provisions to internal stakeholders in line with best practice for the private funds industry, supported by external advisers where appropriate
  • Support future product development efforts including structuring and fund legal documentation as part of wider project teams, including coordinating external legal advisers
  • Supporting in day-to-day legal matters relating to the operations of private funds (resolutions etc.)
  • Design and implementation of compliance controls to ensure satisfaction of Luxembourg and European regulations
  • Performing anti-money laundering controls and process management
  • Maintain strong support and coordinate closely with relevant stakeholders including external law firms, Clients and Investment teams, GPs and AIFM

Your Profile

  • Min. 5 years of experience in the private fund industry in a legal capacity (as an adviser or inhouse), preferably focusing on Luxembourg-domiciled vehicles
  • Relevant degree in law with deep practical knowledge of applicable standards and regulations in the private fund industry
  • Excellent knowledge of the concepts and regulations applicable to investment funds and structures as well as strong project management skills
  • Ability to plan, structure and execute fund documentation with multiple stakeholders including external counterparties and under-changing requirements
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work “hands-on”, strong problem-solving, coordination and teamwork skills are an absolute must
  • Accurate and detail-oriented with strong written and verbal language skills
  • Professional fluency in English (German is a plus)
